Overview

Session structure is one of the few things in intraday trading that is objectively defined: a session either is open or it is not, and its high and low are facts rather than interpretations. That makes it a good place to start, and a good thing to give away.

Session Compass marks the Tokyo, London and New York sessions as shaded boxes with their high and low drawn, carries the previous session range forward as levels, and shades the killzone windows within each session. The opening price of each session is drawn as a line, which on gold and the majors is one of the more consistently respected levels of the day.

There is no dashboard and no scoring. It draws sessions, accurately, and stays out of the way. It is free because it is the natural first template for a new intraday trader, and because everything it draws is factual.

Signal behaviour

Every TradingVAI product states plainly how it behaves as new bars arrive. This one is classified as non repainting.

How this tool behaves on the chart

Non-repainting

Once a signal is printed on a closed bar it never moves or disappears. What you see in history is what you would have seen live.

Sessions are defined by the clock, and their highs and lows are facts about bars that have already closed. A session box grows while its session is open and is fixed the moment the session ends. Nothing is ever redrawn using later information.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes, on all three platforms, with no time limit and no upsell inside the tool. It is here because it is the template most new intraday traders should start with, and because giving it away is a better introduction to the catalogue than a trial.

Do I still need an account?

You need one to receive it — TradingView access is granted to your username, and the MetaTrader files are delivered through your library. There is no payment step.

Can I change the session times?

Yes. Every session has configurable open and close hours and a timezone setting, and you can add a custom session of your own.
